Description
William de Forz, son of William, count of Aumale, makes known that since the land of Eddleston (PEB) had been long occupied by the strength and power of Richard de Moreville, constable of Scotland and his heirs, and of A[lan], son of Roland, constable of Scotland, whose daughter he has as wife, it has fallen to Sir Roger de Quincy, earl of Winchester, Sir John de Balliol, and himself. Knowing that the said land of Eddleston ought to pertain to the church of Glasgow and not wishing to endanger his soul, he has resigned and quitclaimed the said land to the church of Glasgow and to William, bishop of Glasgow.
