Document 1/53/306 (RRS, v, no. 265)

Description
Robert, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful Alexander of Keith all the land that was first held hereditarily of him in the barony of Longforgan (PER) and which was recently resigned to him by staff and baton at Berwick upon Tweed in front of the magnates of his realm, holding by him and the legitimate heirs of his body in feu and heritage, together with the services of freeholders, annual renders, and with neyfs and all other kinds of bondages. If Alexander should die without a legitimate heir of his body, he gives Agnes, daughter of the same Alexander and William Avenel the king's relative (consanguineus) the said land, for them and their heirs legitimately procreated; if they have no heirs, the land would revert to the king.
