- Alexander, king of Scots, to Edward, king of the English (sic), writes thanking him for offering solace after death of his son, King Edward's nephew, by sending brother John of St Germain of the (Dominican or Franciscan) order, and for having regard for their kinship, and reminding the king that much good may still come to pass through his (Alexander's) granddaughter (Margaret 'the Maid of Norway'), now heir apparent; he asks that the king give credence to Andrew, abbot of Cupar (whom he has sent on his behalf), and send (news) back by same messenger
