- Robert, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful James of Cunningham knight for his homage and service all the land of Hassendean (ROX) in the sheriffdom of Roxburgh, in feu and heritage, in free barony, by the same bounds as it was held in the time of King Alexander III, saving the king's service, for the render 11 pounds sterling on Pentecost and Martinmas, and making forinsec service of a half a knight and suit of his court of Jedburgh.
