Document 4/30/6 (Inchcolm, no. 18)

Description
An agreement is formed in the presence of Otto, cardinal-deacon of St Nicholas, and papal legate, between Sir Geoffrey, bishop of Dunkeld, and the chapter of the same place, on one side, and Merleswain son of Waltheof on the other, over the right of patronage of the church of ‘Fithkil’ (now Leslie, FIF). The four arbiters, Bishop Clement of Dunblane, Master Peter of Ramsey, Master Peter of Carstairs, precentor of Dunkeld, and Master William of Cunningham, declare that the patronage will remain with Merleswain, who concedes that the church will become a prebend of Dunkeld Cathedral after the death or retirement of Master John of Everley.
