- Description
- Malcolm, earl of Lennox, has given granted and by this his present charter established to Patrick Lindsay, son of Sir Hugh Lindsay, all his land of Buchnul (Bonhill, DNB) on the River Leven, near the adjacent land of Tullichewan (DNB), by all its correct and customary bounds, with all its just pertinents, to be held and had in feu and heritage, for his homage and service, with various specified freedoms, and in all other freedoms, commodities, and easements, thus named as not named, pertaining to the said land. They are to make good for the common forinsec service of the king which pertains to one half ploughgate of land in Lennox, as it may be necessary, and three head pleas yearly at the court of Lennox, for all other secular service, custom, exaction or demand. However, he reserves for him and his heirs their fisheries on the River Leven. Malcolm promises warrandice.
