- Robert de Brus, earl of Carrick, one of the Guardians of the realm of Scotland addresses the sheriff and his baillies of Forfar athnd states that insomuch as he has truly understood that Alexander Scrymgeour, by the grant of Sir William Wallace, has been infeft and seized in the Constabulary of the Castle of Dundee, and in certain other lands adjacent to the said town of Dundee (ANG), concerning which constabulary and lands, by whomsoever they were conferred upon him, Robert firmly charges him, in the name of Sir John Comyn, the son, his fellow-guardian of the realm of Scotland, and in Robert’s own name that the sheriffs and baillies should place and maintain him in the same position in the said lands and constabulary in all respects, as he held the same by the gift of the said Sir William Wallace before he entered into the guardianship of the said realm.
