Description
John, king of Scotland, writes to his friend lord J[ohn], bishop of Carlisle, noting that the church of [Castle] Sowerby, in his diocese, has been vacated by the acceptance and admission of Master Richard of Whitton, formerly the rector thereof, to the church of Hawick, Glasgow diocese; as the right of patronage now belongs to King John, he has presented Master William of London, his clerk and asks that he be admitted and instituted there.
