Description
Robert, king of Scots, has given, granted and by this his present charter established to the burgesses and community of his burgh of Aberdeen, the care and custody of his whole forest of the Stocket (ABD) with its pertinents. It is to be held and had by the burgesses and community and their heirs, by all their correct ends and bounds, with all the liberties, etc. of the forest. However, he reserves the greenwood and hunting. Additionally, he grants to his burgh, burgesses and community, and also totheir heirs and successors, that no justiciar of his forest, nor anyone else of his kingdom, whomsoever, should be admitted there, lest he should presume to injustly trouble the burgesses or the community. Malefactors face the king’s full forfeiture.
