Description
Richard son of Gregory de Maleville has granted and by this his charter established the agreement made between Geoffrey de Maleville and Matilda Malherbe, his mother, namely, that Matilda has quitclaimed half of Tartraven (MLO), which was her dowry, and she has received the land of Stenhouse (STL) in exchange for the dowry, to hold by those bounds by which Gregory, Richard’s father, held the land of Stenhouse, as the chirograph made between them attests and establishes.

NAS, GD 119/145 King William confirmed the donation of Granton (MLO) made by Richard de Maleville to Geoffrey de Maleville his uncle son of Matilda Malherbe, 1185×89 (1/6/240); he issued a charter of succession to Richard son of Gregory for Granton, 1185×89 (1/6/241) as well as one for Liberton and Leadburn, 1185×89 (1/6/242), as well as further land in Liberton, 1185×89 (1/6/243); he confirmed Reginald Prat’s gift of Muiravonside (WLO) to Richard with Margaret his daughter, 1189×95 (1/6/291).
