Description
David of Quixwood, in respect of charity and for the health of his soul and of his predecessors' has given, granted, and made firm by this his charter, with the assent and consent of his heirs, 1 acre of land in the campus of Coldingham to Saint Mary for a light of St Mary where mass of St Mary is celebrated in the church of Coldingham, viz. that acre lying above 'Halidunstele' (Hallydown, Coldingham, BWK); to be held and had at the prescribed service in pure and perpetual alms for ever, free and quit from all secular service, exaction and demands, just as any alms areheld or pssessed throughout the Kingdom of Scotland.
