- Description
- Cristiana, sister of Patrick son of Thomas, once the wife of Constantine, together with Mabel, and Margaret daughter of Adam, Cristiana's own heirs, having touched holy relics, have abjured and quitclaimed for themselves and their heirs for ever to Coldingham Priory the whole of the cultivated land near Hallecroft towards the south as far as the stream of Bethyoc, to quell the dispute moved between them and the prior and convent of Coldingham over the whole land that belonged to Uhtred the smith, which the prior and convent have granted to them in return for the said abjuration and quitclaim and for 8 shillings a year, which they shall pay to Coldingham Priory and to whomever is the smith at Coldingham at the time for the said land of Uhtred at two terms, half at the feat of St Martin and half at the feat of St John the Baptist.
