Document 4/20/23 (Arb. Lib., no. 144)
- Description
- An agreement is formed between the abbot and convent of Arbroath on one side and William the Fowler on the other over a certain portion of land between William’s villa (Fullerton, ANG) and Maryton (ANG), which lies on the western side of the bridge of Luffness and extends until ‘Stanbrig’, whereby the abbot and convent as well as William have granted, and by this chirograph established the aforesaid lands to the church of St Mary of Maryton, perpetually, in common easement. In testimony of these things, William offered a clod of earth upon the altar of St Mary of Maryton in the presence of William and John, chaplains of Maryton, and Richard Fleming and Simon, son-in-law of the same Richard, and Peter the miller.
