- Description
- Gilbert (III) de Umfraville has granted, and by his present charter established, to Kelso Abbey, in free and perpetual alms, the donation of teind of the foals of his studs just as the charter of Sir Odinel de Umfraville, his grandfather, bears witness. In addition, he has given, granted, and by the present charter established, to the same monks, in free and perpetual alms, for the love of God and the welfare of his soul and of his ancestors and successors, in augmentation of the said alms, all the teind of the foals of the studs from mares at pasture within his forest from the western part of Cottonshope.
