Document 2/144/32 (Lind. Lib., no. 11)
- Description
- Pope Alexander IV writes to the abbot and convent of Lindores, noting their petition that the bishop of Brechin had assessed the taxation of the perpetual vicarage of the church of Dundee, which they have for their own uses, despite the complaint of Master William, perpetual vicar of Dundee, who claimed that he was wronged by the taxation, but did not appeal to the apostolic see within the given time limit. The pope establishes by apostolic authority that what was made by the bishop should not be hindered by the said appeal.
