Description
Malcolm, earl of Lennox, gives notice that before he has received the arms of knighthood, he has granted, and by his present charter has established to Paisley Abbey, for the salvation of the soul of Alexander, king of Scotland, the church of (Old) Kilpatrick (DNB), with all pertinents, liberties and easements, and the lands of Cochno (DNB), Edinbarnet (DNB), ‘Backan’ (?DNB), Faifley (DNB), ‘Drumcreue’ (DNB), Craigbanzeoch (DNB), ‘Monauchkenran’, Duntiglennan (DNB), Kilbowie (DNB), ‘Dallefnan’, Duntocher (DNB), ‘Reynfode’ and ‘Drumdynanis’, with all their pertinents, and all other things of which they were in possession on the day of this grant and confirmation, with mills and all their other pertinents, liberties and easements that pertain or should pertain to them by right, and with every right that pertains to him or his heirs in the foregoing, without any withholding; for the monks to hold in perpetuity, of him and his heirs, in free, pure, and perpetual alms, without any manner of services, aids, military services, seizures (captionibus), suits of court, customs, exactions, and secular claims in future, throwing out any case or judgement concerning the foregoing.
