Based on the witness list, this charter was written at the same time as Earl William's charter, 3/12/7. The two charters, which apparently deal with Inverie in Fife (though some doubt remains about this), contain similar language and were composed in parallel. An alternative explanation could place this at Inverichnie in Buchan (ABD).
