- Description
- King Alexander II for David of Graham; has granted donation which Patrick, earl of Dunbar, made for his homage and service, of whole waste of Dundaff and Strathcarron (STL), formerly king's forest, in exchange for land of 'Gretquerqv' in Galloway, which earl had bestowed to David; for third part of one knight's service. The king also grants that David and his heirs may hold waste with soke and sake, pit and gallows, toll, team and infangthief, and in free forest. No one is to trouble David or his heirs unjustly concerning these liberties, on pain of king's full forfeiture of £10.

Tretquerqv' appears as 'Trevercarcou' in 1275, and can possibly be identified with Earlston in Dalry; see TDG, 3rd ser., lix (1984), p. 54.
