King Alexander and (named) barons to Pope Gregory (IX); inform him that they have sworn in presence of Cardinal Otto, papal legate in England, Scotland and Ireland, and have prepared their charter, which remains in chirograph between themselves and lord king of England. They subject themselves to papal jurisdiction, to be enforced by any suffragan of archbishop of Canterbury.
