Description
David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful James Douglas knight, all the lands of Eshiels and Quilt (PEB), which James resigned to the king at Edinburgh on 7 Oct., AD 1367; holding by James and the male heirs of his body, failing which by Henry Douglas, his brother, and his heirs; in feu and heritage, as freely as the said James held it before his resignation; performing the service which the late William Douglas knight, the uncle of James and Henry, did for the same lands.
