- David, king of Scots, has inspected and truly understood a charter which Margaret Stewart, countess of Angus, made in her widowhood to Arbroath abbey. [charter of Margaret Stewart, countess of Angus, lady of Abernethy, for the salvation of the soul of her lord John Stewart, late earl of Angus, to Arbroath abbey, of the lands of Braikie, Bolshan, and Combraid (now Mainsbank) and the moor of Firth (Fithie?) with common pasture in Montreathmont (all in the parish of Farnell) in the sheriffdom of Forfar.] The king approves, ratifies, and confirms this, saving his service.
