- Robert, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful Adam son of Alan for his service all the land called the Farm with the field called the field of Robert son of Hugh, near the burgh of Rutherglen (LAN), by stated bounds, which were resigned by Brice of Motherwell and Mariota his wife, by reason of his wife and Matilda her sister, daughter and heir of the late Adam Maurice, resigned to the king at Dumbarton in the presence of the nobles of the realm on Thursday before the feast of Blessed Peter in chains (28 July), AD 1328; holding in feu and heritage for four pounds annually on Pentecost and Martinmas in the name of blanchferme for all custom, exaction and service.
