William of Benniworth, master (fl.1165×88)

Biography
Watt, Graduates, 39: First occurs as Master 1165×78 and as bishop's clerk 1178×84. His surname is taken from Benniworth in Lincolnshire. He may have been a son of Walter of Benniworth and a brother of Roger of Benniworth who died 1175×89. A contemporary is found in Lincoln sources by the 1220s and was a Lincoln subdean 1230×2, and was perhaps a brother of Roger of Benniworth's son and successor, Geoffrey of Benniworth who died 1218×24.
