Gilbert of Kent, master

Biography
Watt, Graduates, 291: Gilbert occurs as Master, 1272x1273. He may have been the same as, or connected to, a Gilbert of Kent, master, rector of Tuxford (1227). He is possibly the son of Thomas of Kent, and was in the service of Alan of Galloway in the 1220s, and died at Melrose in 1247. He should be distinguished from a Gilbert of Kent, clerk (not Master), vicar of Dalmeny, who was in the familia of David of Bernham, bishop of St Andrews.
