The People of Medieval Scotland database includes nearly 200 different types of relationship factoid, which can be browsed here.
Relationships are one of the four types of 'factoid' which the PoMS database utilises. (They are transactions, titles and occupations, possessions, and relationships.) Relationship factoids reflect when an explicit statement about a connection between two people is made in a document. Inferred relationships based on context are not included.
Relationships are divided into three categories - familial, tenurial and lordship, and employment. This section details the three separate Gephi sociograms which we have made available. Click on one of the three options on the left or select a visualisation directly from the drop down menu.
