Description
David, king of Scots, for the salvation of the souls of himself and his ancestors and successors the kings of Scots, and for the salvation of the souls of Bartholomew de Loone, knight, and Philippa de Mowbray his spouse, daughter and heir of the late Philip de Mowbray knight, and the souls of all his ancestors and successors and of all the deceased faithful, has given Lindores abbey, half of Easter Craigie in the barony of Barnbougle (WLO) in the sheriffdom of Edinburgh; which land Bartholomew and Philippa resigned by staff and baton in the presence of the magnates of the realm by their own free will, for the infeftment of the said monastery in the same; holding in free, pure and perpetual alms, as freely as Bartholomew and Philippa possessed it, and as any land is held in his kingdom. One of the monks is to celebrate one mass at the altar of St Michael for the salvation of the aforesaid souls.
