Description
David, king of Scots, has given his beloved and faithful Malcolm Fleming knight for his homage and laudable service to the king, all his lands of Farines and Rhinns and the whole burgh of Wigtown (WIG) and all his lands of the whole sheriffdom of Wigtown by stated bounds, to be held by Malcolm and his legitimate male heirs, descending by the masculine line, in feu and heritage, in free earldom, with the homages and services of freeholders, feus and forfeitures, with courts and escheats, with pit and gallows, sake and soke, toll and team, and infangenthef, with multures, mills and their profits, etc., and with the advowsons of churches and right of patronage of monasteries and abbeys, reserving to himself the patronage of the episcopal seat of Whithorn. He also wills and grants that the burgesses of Wigtown are to have the same liberties that they had in the times of his predecessors the kings of Scots; making the service of five knights in the king's army.
