Description
Robert, king of Scots, has given (?) his beloved and faithful Hugh of Berkeley knight for his homage and service the demesne vill of the thanage of Belhelvie (ABD), the land of Westertoun inferior and of Westertoun superior, the land of Keir and the land of Eggie within the said thanage of Belhelvie, with the multures of the said lands, brewhouse and office of smith and office of sergeand and with the cain of the kirkland of the church of Belhelvie, in extent 40 librates of land and renders, to be held by Hugh and his wife Helen and their legitimate heirs, of us and our heirs, in feu and heritage, in one free barony with pit and gallows, toll and team, sake and soke, and infangenthef; for three suits of his sheriff court at Aberdeen, at the three chief pleas, and Scottish service pertaining to 40 librates of land. And he wills that the land will revert to the king should Hugh and Helen have no legitimate heirs.
