Document 3/728/1 (RMS, i, App. 1, no. 77)
- Description
- Eve, heir and lady of Keillour, daughter of the late Constantine, lord of Keillour, in her legitimate widowhood and great poverty and urgent need, has sold to Robert of Harcarse, knight, all her land of Keillour for a certain sum of money which Lord Robert paid her in full, with Robert holding in perpetuity, performing Scottish service for the lord king and rendering annually at the castle of Forfar 4s on Pentecost, and 3s to the Hospital of St John in Scotland, on the customary dates. Eve warrants the said sale. Because Eve's seal is not known, the seals of nobleman Lord Alexander of Abernethy, then guardian in Scotia from the mountains to the water of Forth, and of Lords Alan and Henry, by the grace of God, abbots of Coupar and Scone have been appended.
