- Description
- The king writes to the sheriff of Lincoln noting that John de Warenne, earl of Surrey, who is guardian of the realm of Scotland, has been given respite of his debts and should not be distrained by the sheriff.
In the same manner to the sheriffs of York, Sussex, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk, Essex, Surrey and to the treasurer and barons of the exchequer.
Thomas of Sanford, who is with Henry de Percy in the king’s service in Scotland, has similar letters not to be distrained, directed to the sheriff of Devon, Reginald de Gray, justiciar of Chester, and the treasurer and barons of the exchequer.
John de Sutton, who is with Henry de Percy in the king’s service in Scotland, has similar letters not to be distrained, directed to the sheriff of York.
Robert de Hastang, junior, who is in the king’s service in Scotland, has letters of respite of debt, directed to the treasurer and barons of the exchequer.
Henry de Percy, who is in the king’s service in Scotland, has letters of respite, directed to the treasurer and barons of the exchequer, and the sheriffs of York and Sussex.
Alan de Peynton, who is with John de Warenne, earl of Surrey in Scotland, has letters of respite, directed to the sheriffs of York, Cumberland and Lincoln.
Elias of Albany, who is with John de Warenne, earl of Surrey in Scotland, has letters of respite, directed to the sheriffs of Somerset, Lincoln and Cornwall, and to the treasurer and barons of the exchequer.
Roland de Queykyn, who is with John de Warenne, earl of Surrey in Scotland, has letters of respite, directed to the sheriff of Devon, the treasurer and barons of the exchequer.
