Writ under the Great Seal to the Barons commanding that if John earl of Atholl becomes bound before them, ‘body for body’, that Alexander Menzies, prisoner in the Tower, Malcolm of Kilross, prisoner in Rochester Castle, David le Mire prisoner in Leeds Castle, and John Page prisoner in Tunbridge Castle, shall attend the king beyond the seas with horses and arms, they shall be freed, dated 9 August. Whereon the earl on Friday the morrow of the Assumption of the Blessed Mary, became bound in their presence for the said Alexander, Malcolm and John, who were accordingly delivered to him. And on the following day, Saturday, the earl became bound for David, who was also delivered to him.
