Document 5/3/0 (CDS, iii, no. 279)

Description
Addressing the king [Edward II], an unknown writer says that since he left him at York, Sir Robert Bruce had held at parliament at Ayr, and intended to send Sir Edward, his brother, with the greater part of his forces, into England, while he himself attacked the castles of Dumfries, Buittle and Caerlaverock, remaining there, and sending his light troops to plunder the north for their support. The bearer will relate matters touching the king’s dignity.
