The king has granted to his sworn-man, the knight John of Kingston, his castle and the county of Edinburgh, with pertinents, to keep as long as it shall please the king. And Walter de Huntercombe is ordered to cause to be delivered, by indenture made between them the said castle with arms, provisions and other things, and the county with rolls and writs and all other things, to the keeping of the said John. And the bishops, abbots, priors, earl, barons, knights, and all other tenants of the castle and county of Edinburgh are ordered to be attentive and obedient to the said John.
