- Description
- The king, considering that his late father gave to Robert Hastang, for his good service, the Scottish lands of the following rebels, that is, Nicholas de Soules’ land of Tulk and Cluny, Roger the marischal’s in ‘la Halle del Mire’ of Rowmannok, David of Brechin’s in Lyiardwode, Nigel de Cockburn’s in Meget, John the marischal’s in Tocstrother, John de St Michael’s in Heviside, Roger of Alemoor's in Alemoor, Alexander of Lindsay’s manor of Byres, Agnes de Vescy’s lands in Appeltreryggs, Geoffrey de Mowbray’s manor of Eckford, Thomas Randolph’s manor of Broxmouth, and Herbert Maxwell’s manor of Maxwell, as worth 300 marks per annum, and thereafter resumed the whole, except Broxmouth and Byres, restoring them to the former owners, who came to his peace; therefore, to make up the deficiency, grants to Robert the following Scottish rebels’ lands, that is, those of Robert of Keith in Lothian, of Thomas de Haya in Heriot, Rasawe, Ladyset and Garvock in Lothian, and in Easter Felton and Philipstone, of Peter de Pontekyn in Pontekyn in the barony of Musselburgh, of Edmund of Ramsey in Cockpen in Lothian, of Godfrey Broun in Comber Culstone, of Geoffrey de Fressingley in Wester Duddingston, and of Aymer of Hadden in Urkestone, to be held by him and his heirs for 300 marks along with Broxmouth and Byres, the king making up the deficit elsewhere if they fall short, and Robert accounting for the surplus if they exceed that amount.
