- Memorandum that the king, in his parliament at Westminster, in his regnal year the 21st, ordained by his council that John Balliol, king of Scotland, gives to the king’s chamberlain, for his fee, the same touching the chamberlain – by reason of homage – which the same king of Scots made to the king of England for the realm of Scotland, £20, that is, double what an earl gives by reason of his homage. Peter de Champvent, then chamberlain (of England) is ordered that the said £20 shall be secured.
