Brian fitz Alan has received from Sir Alexander de Balliol, chamberlain of Scotland, and Master Robert Heron, rector of the church of Ford, [who was made] an associate to the same by the lord king of England, twenty-three pounds of sterling as part of the payment of his wages for the custody of the castles of Roxburgh and Jedburgh.
