Description
Nicholas of Seagrave, keeper of the castle of Dumbarton and of Ayr, has received from John of Cramond, twenty-three pounds of sterling from the escheats on the northern part of the Firth of Forth, on behalf of Sir Alexander de Balliol, chamberlain of Scotland, and Master Robert Heron, rector of the church of Ford, [who was made] an to the same by the lord king of England and overlord of Scotland, as part of the payment of his wages for custody of the said castles of Dumbarton and of Ayr.
