Edward, king of England, lord of Ireland and duke of Aquitaine, addresses his baillie of Tynedale, and states that Richard in le Wra, son and heir of Richard in le Wra of Tynedale, revealed to him that the baillies of Alexander the late king of Scotland, immediately after the death of Richard, his father, took into the hands of the king sixteen acres of land with the pertinents in Hetheringtone, which are the inheritance of the said Richard, and which his father held in_ drengagium_ from the king of Scotland. The king orders the baillie to inquire as to the tenure of the lands held of the late king of Scotland in Tynedale.
