R., dean of Linlithgow, writes to lord Adam, prior of St Andrews, noting that he had made an inquisition in his chapter at Linlithgow on 22 January as Adam had asked whether any money or pension had been paid to Brother Thomas of Doncaster. It was said that no one paid him any money, except that Sir J., rector of the church of ‘Strabrok’ (Uphall, WLO), paid him one mark; Donald, rector of the church of Ecclesmachan (WLO) 40s., the rector of the church of Ratho (MLO), half a mark; the rector of the church of Gogar (MLO), 2 ½ marks, the rector of the church of Salmannan (STL), 6 stones of cheese; the rector of Melville (MLO), half a mark; the vicar of East Calder (WLO), half a mark; the vicar of Airth (STL), half and mark.
