- Description
- In [AD 1296, the 9th indiction], on the penultimate day of July [30th], at 'Rothenays' (Rathenach) in Moray; there being present the lords Thomas Bicknor and John Merk, knights, William of Melton, Robert of Cottingham, and Geoffrey of Stokes, clerks, and the notary; William of 'Rothenayk', came to the faith and will of the king of England; and renounced any alliances etc. entered into with the king of the French; and performed fealty to the king of England, etc.
