Boniface VIII writes to Andrew, bishop of Argyll, noting how the church of Argyll has been without a pastor since the death of Laurence, bishop of Argyll; the election made by the dean and chapter of Andrew, then a Friar Preacher, having been presented to the pope for confirmation, Andrew resigned his right; on which the pope appoints him, and orders Theodore, bishop of Palestrina to consecrate him. Concurrent letters to the clergy and people of the diocese and to the bishop of St Andrews, and John, son of John Comyn, and Ingram de Umfraville, guardians of the realm of Scotland by the community of the same realm.
