- Description
- In AD 1296, the 9th indiction, 22nd day of July, at Banff, the lord Thomas of Torthorwald, knight, came to the faith and will of the lord king of England; there being present the noblemen recorded last above, and the Notary; and he annulled the alliances, contracts, agreements, and pacts that were at any time entered into with the king of the French against the king of England in his name; and having taken the holy gospels and kissed them, he performed fealty to the lord king of England; and upon his fealty performed in this way, he made his letters patent, sealed with his pendant seal.
