- Memorandum that Ralph of Manton, keeper of the wardrobe of King Edward [I], released to Sir Arnold Guille of Pugey, constable of the castle of Dumfries, for the fortification of the castle at Dumfries (DMF), by the sight and testimony of lords John of Bar and John of Bittcourte, various provisions, viz.: from the provisions, remnants and discoveries in the castle from the time of Sir John de la Dolme, former constable of the castle, twelve shillings, six (loaves?) of bread, two casks of flower, one and a half casks of wine, two bussella of salt, 2940 pounds of onions, 150 salted fish, which are called Hakes, four bushels of hay, and six pounds of wax. And from the purchase by Richard of Winton, clerk of the cook of the king, twenty beef cattle, and from the discharge of Master Richard of Aberdeen, of the store-room of the king at Carlisle and Skinburness (Cumbria), five quarters of malted barley, two quarters of beans, six quarters of avene, two quarters of salt, thirty bacones, 2900 herring, 200 salted fish. Further rights are also stipulated.
