- William, lord of Douglas, gave, granted and by this his present charter established to William of Douglas of Lothian, for his service, his whole land of the Knokys, Sewynkyrke, Kennormore, _Logane_, _Colenknaunc_ within the barony of _Botle_ in Galloway, with the pertinents [ ], to be held and had in feu and heritage, without any reservation, and with all and every liberty, easement, just pertinent, and with anything else owed to pertain to it, thus named as not named, thus below the land as above the land, without multure or any service to be expended at his mill. He is to render six pennies of silver at the _Knokys_ at the feast of Pentecost, if it may be asked for in the name of a fair ferme, for all secular service, exaction or demand which they will be able to extract or require.
