Description
The Guardians of the realm of Scotland, elected by the community of the same, write to lord Edward, king of England, lord of Ireland and duke of Aquitaine, noting that, at his request and instance, they have determined that W[illiam], R[obert], bishops of St Andrews and Glasgow, Robert Bruce the father, lord of Annandale, and John Comyn, [shall treat] with certain business with Edward and the messengers of the king of Norway, as Edward’s letters put forth. They give and grant to the said men power and command to treat with the Norwegian messengers in his presence concerning this business, saving the liberty and honour of the realm of Scotland.
