- Description
- William de Oberville, lord of Pittencrieff, has granted to the abbot and convent of Dunfermline one portion of coal (carbonariam) within his land of Pittencrieff (FIF), wherever they may wish [to take it], except within the arable land. They may secure it for their use, but they may not presume to sell to others. Additionally, he wishes and grants to them the free power to be dig, to take hold of, and to yield the stones in the his land, for their use, according to their will, except [those in] the arable land. Additionally, he grants to them, and to those individuals belonging to them, that they may be free to use all the roads and paths through his land of Pittencrieff and Gallowridge, without any impediment, at whatever time they are to made use of them or were accustomed to make use of them.
