Document 2/10/300 (Dunf. Reg., no. 121)
- Description
- William of Lamberton, bishop of St. Andrews, confirms by the present [charter] to Dunfermline Abbey, for the honour of St Andrew, his patron [saint], and the blessed Queen Margaret, of whom’s relicts are being revered there, the vicarage of the church of the convent of Dunfermline (FIF), with the pariochial church, for their own uses in perpetuity, so that the sacrist of the church, whoever he may be at the time, may have the cure of the vicarage. He reserves the episcopal dues, and also states that a suitable chaplain should be provided to serve the parish. The bishop concludes by stating that the sacrist should be mindful not to hinder the cure by taking certain specified actions.
