- Description
- In [1296, 9th Indiction] 14 July, with the lords recorded immediately before present as witnesses, and the notary, a certain Walter de Scherwinglawe by name, came into the trust and obedience of the king of England, and annulled the alliances, contracts, agreements, and pacts that were at any time entered into with the king of the French against the king of England in his name; and having taken the holy gospels and kissed them, he performed fealty to the lord king of England; and upon his fealty performed in this way, he made his letters patent, sealed with his pendant seals.
