Document 3/465/0 (Crossraguel, no. 8)

Description
Henry de Percy, guardian in the region of Carlisle commands Sir James Dalilegh that [upon] seeing these letters he should hastily send two engines to Girvan in Carrick and transport them by boat that they may well [‘auxi’] come by water as by the wind. He greatly marvels at the fact that the provisions did not come to him as he had charged Dalilegh the sustenance of the host, by which Percy commands that he send them hastily just as he loves the honour of their lord the king and the advantage of all the host. And just as Dalilegh wishes to save himself from damage and insofar as he is able to forfeit against their lord the king, he should not forget to do this command so industriously and so hastily that Percy may be able to redeem him and testify to his good service to their lord the king.
