Description
On the same day [17 June], in the same year [1296] and indiction [9th], at the same place [Stirling], with those immediately aforementioned present as witnesses, and in the presence of the Notary undersigned, William called Colnehach attained the trust and good will of the King of England of his free will, and annulled alliances, contracts, agreements, and pacts entered into with the king of the French against the king of England, and expressly renounced them; and having touched and kissed the most holy gospels, performed fealty to the king of England; and in respect of this act of fealty he drew up letters patent in his own name and set his seal with his own authentic pendant seal.
